How to train RR puppy

There is no doubt that a little and cute RR puppy will bring into your house much joy and positive emotions. But beyond that, an unexperienced dog owner should also be ready not only to feed and play but also to train his puppy in the proper way. You should quite often take him for a walk. Puppies don't have a natural instinct to "do their business" outside and must be taught. Take the puppy outside after he wakes in the morning, after each meal and before bed. Do not allow the puppy to roam the house free until he is house trained to avoid accidents. Yet you must be patient and if something unpleasant has happened, to clean it as quickly as possible, before the puddle is withered.

Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies should be trained from the early childhood. Of course, the puppies are so cute, but still you should realize, they are not simply nice toys. They are never too young for their first lessons. From the very first day, you should let your puppy know who is the ‘boss’ in the house- what is acceptable and what is not. You should never show weakness as for example, looking at a lovely little pet you may want to give him something tasty from your plate or let him lie in your bed, but if you are not going to allow this in future, do not allow it at all, since it is much easier to forbid something from the early childhood than to do it in ‘mature’ age.

Besides the rules of behavior at home, you still have much to do with your puppy, e.g. to inure it to the collar and lead, run up to you on command, walk beside etc. By the way, if you have a car, the puppy of Rhodesian Ridgeback should be as early as possible be habituate to the trips, even if you do not especially need to go anywhere presently, it will be of much use in future.

Certainly, until the puppy is small and cannot do anything itself, it will be not an easy task to train it, but be assured, your efforts will not be in vain; it is a great joy and pride for every owner to have a well-behaved dog. It is sometimes very difficult to correct the mistakes, which were made during the training of a puppy. Training your dog is the basic and fundamental steps to communicating and teaching your dog proper obedience and good behavior. In fact, it is highly important that every dog be given at least some basic elementary obedience and behavior training as no responsible dog owner would like to have a disobedient dog that won't listen to commands and one that embarrass you in public.
