History in Russia

In 1993 Vera Buslaeva brought the first Rhodesian Ridgeback couple from USA to Russia: a male MBIRA GENESIS ADAM and a female CH USA FONRIDGE NEVER FOR PLEASURE. Thus the RR breeding history begun in our country.

On November 1, 1994 in”Verbus” club the first set of puppies was born. Even the nature looked with favor on this – 5 males and 1 female. In future the main Ridgeback breeders in Russia became Verbus Asunta (the owner: Kuznetsov) and Verbus Amanda (the owner: Krivova) that gave many champions in first years of breeding.

 

The ancestor of our club was born in 1996 from litter set Verbus Asunta and Кефа Бой оф Квазулу, a male brought from Hungary, that was Vumba son – the famous World Champion.

 

Eva (home name – Tina) apperead in our housewhen she was 5 months old and became a part of our life. In 1998 the first litter was born from the young breeder from South Africa Republic – Sabu Aleksander.

 

The result was excellent- Elena Maryanovskay’s first litter as a breeder’s. The puppies were so good that next Eva’s litters were from the same breeder. Since 1998 Russian RR begun to participate in International shows in Europe and all over the world, where they were winners and class and brred winners. Also among Russian dogs we have Europe Champion and Vice Champion of the world – Miledi that was breed by the owner Mrs. Petrakova under Elena Maryanovskaya’s delicate control – the Tina Trading club founder. Since that time leading breeders of all the world recognized Russian Ridgebacks.

 

The first Rhodesian Ridgebacks National Club’s show took place in 1999. Greg Eva, KUSA President and representative of RR native land South Africa Republic was specially invited. He evaluated Russian Ridgebacks as worthy and able to develop the breeding tradition of this wonderful breed. Since that time the quantity of the RR’ shows are growing. Many famous experts from different countries have already been at these shows.
